Burco began manufacturing bicycles in Amsterdam in 1939.  The focus was always heavy duty utility and town bikes.  Burco was sold to Accell, the owners of the Batavus and Sparta brands, in 2004.  Although the brand may continue to be used, the company no longer exists.
