EKLA from Belgium was one of the last firms to make sandcast framelugs for racingbikes. The inside of the lug was machined to obtain a good fit and thin wall.The outside was rough and had to be filed and polished. As we can see in the picture the headangle was marked in the mould. Older English and other European bikes were built with these lugs.
