History

Jose Marotias, former professional and crosscountry-specialist, from spanish basque-country started in 50th with the Produktion of custom-made roadracingframes. Early models ("Padre-aera") were made of Seefab-tubes with Nervex-Luggs. Later his son continued the produktion with more conventional frames made of raynolds 531 ("Hijo-aera").
Some spanish pro-teams used Marotiasframes, often branded with the sponsorname, as Kas, Bic, Fagor and even Eddy Merckx.
Remarkeble at this frames are the ends of the topstays, bended around the seatlugg.

The company still exists as a bikeshop in Gipuzkoa, basquecountry
