General Information
The SR Super Apex series of cranksets was a step below the SR Royal series and a step above the standard SR Apex series.  The Super Apex cranks have a one piece forged arm and spider whereas the standard Apex cranks have two piece swaged arm and spider.  The SAX-5LA-EL model is found in the 1980 SR P5 catalog, as well as found as equipment on the Univega Gran Premio in the Univega 1980 catalog. The large chainring in the example in the photos appears to be an Ofmega, but since both the SAX-5LA-EL and the Ofmega ring are Campy Super Record copies the look is similar.

Date of Manufacturing / Production Code for SR seatposts (at least for the 80's):
The date of prodcution of SR (Laprade) seatposts is shown around the min.insert line as follows:
"letter"-"double digit number", e.g. F-81 oder L-81, while the letter should be the month and the number will be the year of production.
So F-81 seems to be June 1981 while L-81 would indicate December 1981.
