General Information
This Williams 5-spoke, cottered, fixed chainwheel, 3/32 inch teeth, joggled teeth line dates from 1965. The style seems to arise in the mid-1960s alongside the long-running C34 type. Other recent examples on eBay date from 1965 and 1967 with 46 and 48 teeth and also with fluted arms. Looking at the 1932 catalogue on the www.threespeedhub website there is a very similar chainwheel type B239 - B standing for the 5-pin attachment. I have thus called this F239 (F for fixed) until evidence from 1960s catalogues emerges.

Brand Information(click to expand)
Williams produced cranksets from the 1920's through the early 1980's or later.  Most noted, perhaps unfairly, by their lower end cranksets which changed little from the 1920's into the early 60's.  ClassicLightweights has more information on this brand.
