Details:  Centaur was introduced late 89 (1990 model year from what I can gather) as a minimalist version of their Euclid MTB group set.  The first version was essentially the same as Euclid with some subbed out parts such as the brake levers, a freewheel hub and a few other parts.  In late 1990 the group was revised to the form it would have until it was discontinued in the mid 90's when Campagnolo exited the MTB market.
