General Information
Introduced in 1938, Bayliss-Wiley invented the first internal "freehub" type hub design. Previous hubs utilized separate freewheels, whereas this hub had its ratchet mechanism built into the hub body.  While this ahead-of-its-time hub design did not catch on back in the day, freehub type hubs were re-introduced by Shimano in 1978 and have since become ubiquitous as the state-of-the-art for hub design.

Brand Information(click to expand)
A company primarly focused on the production of bicycle components, hubs in particular.  They were forward thinkers of the time, producing some of the first "cassette" hubs as early as the late 1930's and sold it through the mid 50's.  This, still 3 decades before SunTour or Shimano attempted to poplarize the same concept.  The company also produced freewheels to round out its drive train product line.
