[translated by Elev12k - thanks] Company name: MA de Jonge & Co Founder: Matheus Antonius de Jonge Founded: 1919 (store)/ 1924 (factory) Branche: Amsterdam, Oude Looiersstraat. At some point moved to Marnixstraat 360. Late 50s moved to Hilversum, Achterom 150-152. Discontinued: Not known. Anyway by 1977 it still existed, as wholesaler and importer of Mercier sports-bikes from France. M. A. de Jonge was born on 25 augustus 1902. He started his cycling store in 1919. Later on De Jonge & Co mainly started to get recognition as manufacturer of beautifull sports-bikes. In the 60s Joco switched to importing Mercier sport-bikes form France. De Jonge as a person was an active roadcycling enthousiast. Till his dead he entered competitions regularly. He died at age 88 in competion in Tiel, due to brake failure...
