History |
Since 1984 Mario Camilotto opened his workshop in Milan. He learnt the art of handmade steel frames from Sante Pogliaghi from 1978 until Sante closed his workshop. Mario was specialized in track and stayer bicycles, he realized track bikes and stayers for the Italian Team and road custom bikes for Milanese teams. His Frames report typical Pogliaghi marks, like the serial number on the
steerer tube, and drop-shaped dropouts, obvioulsly also the geometry
studio has references to Sante. He made by himself the fork bender that give to the forks a unique shape. In 1988 Cinelli bought the Camilotto workshop and Mario moved to Cinelli factory from 1988 to 1991, building Cinelli Supercorsa for american and japanese luxury market, and for italian race teams.
After 1991 Mario moved to FIC (Fabbrica Italiana Compositi) in Rosate (Milan), were they made the first full carbon lugged frame for the most popular Italian Brand.... There are almost 400 bikes marked with Camilotto brand!
