General Information
The C-37 was Bertin's top model for many years. They were produced from the late 1960s into the 1980s. C-37 referred mote to the Reynolds 531 frame than the actual bike model. I've seen factory equipped C-37s with everything from Huret Alvit derailleurs to full Campy gruppos. This particular bike is a C-37bis ('bis' in this case meaning light weight). Bertin introduced the C-37bis with all top end French components in the late 70s. It was their "team model" bike. The original bikes were built with Super Vitus 971 tubing which was similar to Columbus SL in weight and ride. This 1980 C-37bis has Super Vitus 971 stickers but the 3 main tubes are made of the lighter Super Vitus 980. It came with gold anodized Mafac Competition brakes and Simplex Super LJ derailleurs. It's a very light bike and with sewups and other wise equipped as pictured weighed under 20 lbs.
