General Information
1976 French Patent 76 18873 for HEFO bottom bracket issued to Henri Jules Folliet of Lyon, France. James Cooper: "The 1979 Ron Kitching catalogue lists and has a line drawing of a HEFO bottom bracket... The price was £42.76 (UK Sterling) ... the brief description says it had a titanium axle and was suitable for double chain wheels (Campagnolo). The more detailed description accompanying the line drawing reads 'A new conception with the chain wheel side bearing combining needle rollers and steel balls giving full support to vertical and lateral thrusts. The screwed cups are fitted with seals and a concertina type sleeve completes the waterproofing. Supplied with titanium axles specially treated to resist wear.' It was no longer listed in the 1981 catalogue."
