General Information
JEAY brakes are a cam actuated centerpull brake that mount on brazed-on studs.  The studs are specific to this type of brake, positioned higher on the fork and seat stays than cantilever studs, and lower than centerpull brakes, making a bike compatible with only this type of brake.  This style of brake was popular on French randonneur bicycles and tandems from the mid 1930's and continued to be specified to about the 1950's era. Brands such as Mercier, Motobecane, Automoto, and Follis used this style of brake.
