General Information
Group Family General Info: Shimano Dura-Ace was introduced in the mid 1970's as their flagship road racing group.  While their early generations often found itself on a very wide range of bicycles, by the 1980's the group was starting to make a name for itself as a true competitor of Campagnolo's Record group.
General Info: The introduction of Dura-Ace in the mid 1970's, along with the indroduction of the Shimano 600 group were Shimano's first attempts at a professional quality road racing component group.  The first Generation Dura-Ace was updated and renamed the 7100 series by around 1977/78.
