Model General Information

The Fongers-RIH line of bicycles was result of a close cooperation between the manufacturer of the best traditional Dutch bicycles (Fongers, Groningen) and the builder of successfull individually crafted competition bicycles (RIH Bustraan, Amsterdam). The Fongers built RIH line up consisted of lightweight gents and ladies bikes and thoroughbred roadbikes. The later were also built in Amsterdam, but in Groningen they were built in small series.

The cooperation offered advantages for both parties: Fongers could draw from the expertise on lightweight bicycles RIH pocessed and it enabled them to establish a line of fine lightweights next to their traditional Dutch bike offerings. RIH found in Fongers a partner capable to build RIH bicycles to the highest standards in small series.
