Headbadge Information
John Slawta began building frames under the Land Shark name in 1982 in Los Angeles. He moved his home and one-man frame building operation to Medford, OR in 1991 where he still making some of the finest frames in the world. His frames have been used in US and World championships, and one was ridden to the only US overall victory in the Giro d'Italia. While famous among elite competitors and in-the-know recreational riders, Land Shark has flown largely "below the radar" as his frames were often repainted with a sponsor's graphics. The company name was inspired by John Belushi's skits on SNL.
