Since 2007, the goal of VeloBase.com has been to provide a comprehensive database of vintage cycling knowledge for reference during everything from restorations, to general maintenance, to researching the history of cycling through the equipment in use through the years. The site is broken down into four main sections. One for vintage cycling Components,
the next for Frames and complete Bicycles as sold by dealers, then a section for Frame Building Parts and Head Badges, and the last for other miscellaneous content of Vintage Cycling significance.
All of the content on the site was added by its members, truly making it the cycling community's database. Visit the

Components
Need to figure out what crankset you have or how many gears a derailleur will work with? The VeloBase.com currently has a collection of 7798 Components and is the largest collection on the site.
The collection consists of components made from before 1900 through the year 2000. You can search by name below, or use one of our other Search features for a more refine the search criteria in other ways.

Bicycles & Framesets
Bicycles & Frames is the newest collection to be added to VeloBase.com, and aims to collect information on the vast number of vintage bicycles in hopes of preserving information on both their original specifications as well as representing how cyclists ride them today.
This collection is currently under development and any feedback or suggestions are welcome.

Head Badges & Frame Parts
The Head Badge and Frame Part Database aims to help identifiy the builder, country of origin, age, and capabilities of a frame.
Both collections consist of examples from a wide range of bicycles from all over the world and spanning nearly a century of cycling history.

Catalog Scans, Other Collections & Content
In addition to the larger collections, VeloBase.com also has a few smaller database collections including Vintage Tools and Team Jerseys. There is also a growing list of catalog scans hosted here and on other sites across the internet.
There is also a Glossary of Terms, Links and Additional Resources, online tools such as a Gear Calculator and tool to calculate the front geometry of a frame & fork.
